On Oct. 26, the St. Louis Park City Council plans to hold an initial conversation to decide whether or not they would like to re-evaluate the stance they took on Flock and ALPRs in St. Louis Park at the the first study session on the issue in April of this year.

While this is only the beginning of a long procedural process we hope will end with the cancellation of St. Louis Park’s contract with Flock — as well as opening the doors for future reforms and policy changes on the issue of mass surveillance tech and data/privacy protections for residents — it is an important first step.

While we won’t know for certain if this topic will actually be on the (reportedly) full agenda for the Oct. 26 City Council meeting until the Friday of Oct. 23, it will be important to have this date marked so you can attend in person and show your support.
