6/13 Letter to the Editor writing event

June 13 @ 9:00 am10:30 am

This Saturday, June 13 from 9-10:30am, a group of us will be gathering to work on letters for on ongoing letter to the editor campaign regarding both our city governments refusal to further discuss or enact a seapartion ordinance, or provide more meaningful guardrails and restrictions on FLOCK ALPR (Automatic License Plate Reader) cameras. For reference, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Golden Valley, Robbinsdale, and Burnsville all have some level of separation ordinance in place. Brooklyn Park and Columbia Heights either have or are looking at cancelling their FLOCK contracts altogether.

Both of these are common sense policies that we need our local government to take a serious look at in the wake of the peak of the surge. While we’ve accomplished a lot as a community, we need our local government to work now to establish every possible roadblock they can to make what we’ve seen since December more difficult for the federal government in the future.
